Allard Design LLC is a full service interior design firm that offers commercial, hospitality and residential clients programming services, real estate evaluation, concept ideation and development, space planning, design documentation and installation assistance. We are happy to lead your project or work as a part of your team. Our goal is simple, listen to our clients and offer them smart, affordable solutions that make their lives better.

Michelle has 20 years of national and international design experience in commercial, hospitality and residential design. Prior to founding Allard Design in 2007, she was a senior designer at Steelcase Inc. where she was part of a team responsible for the design of showrooms, trade show displays and facilities throughout the United States. Some of the largest of these projects were showrooms in New York, Chicago and Santa Monica as well as the Global Headquarters in Michigan. During her time at Steelcase, Michelle was able to put her leadership skills to use as she was responsible for overseeing contract designers, architects and construction management companies.

Prior to joining Steelcase in 1997 Michelle worked in the hospitality design industry. She enjoyed her time as a specification writer and designer for Daroff Design in Philadelphia. While at Daroff, she worked on many national accounts such as Disney, Rain Forest Cafe, Harrah's and Loews Hotels. She secured one of the firms first international customers and was promoted for her efforts. Before heading to Philadelphia, Michelle had several years experience in the Michigan hospitality market designing boutique hotels on Mackinaw Island.

Michelle earned her BA degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University where she was named Academic All-Big Ten as a member of the Varsity Women's Diving Team. Her design career began with an exporting company where she had the opportunity to work on many high end residential project in Saudi Arabia. This international experience was invaluable and exposed her to several residential manufacturers.

Most recently, Michelle has joined Turnstone Furniture a space planning consultant working with small businesses in emerging markets. She assists them in planning their space and utilizing Turnstone's web based product line offering.

Michelle lives in Spring Lake with her husband of 18 years and their two children. She is the chair person of Holmes Elementary's Michigan Green School Initiative. Michelle also enjoys coaching diving and downhill skiing with her family.
